Five Upstart Americans is a "follow-up" album of sorts from The Monks. It features earlier demo versions of songs from Black Monk Time, plus other previously unheard songs. It was released in 1999 by Omplatten, Ltd. It was released in Europe on the Play Loud label as Monks Demo Tapes 1965 in 2007.
