Fitzroy City Serbia (Serbian Cyrillic: Србија), is a Serbian-backed football (soccer) club based in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. The club competes in the Victorian State League Division Three South-East. Fitzroy Serbia was originally known as Carlton Serbia, which was established in 1953 primarily by members of the St. Sava Serbian Orthodox Church in Carlton. Carlton Serbia played most of their home games in the inner city suburbs of Melbourne, consisting mainly of players of Serbian background and/or the local Serbian Community. Then, in 1953, the club merged with Ringwood United in the eastern Suburbs of Melbourne, and after a few years, the club became known as Ringwood Serbia. In 1991 the club became Fitzroy City (aka Fitzroy Serbia) and played its games at the old ground of the ex VFL/AFL club Fitzroy Lions at Edinburgh Gardens in Fitzroy, enjoying their best ever results from 1999 - 2001. In Season 2008 Fitzroy City Serbia is playing in Provisional League 1 South East. In season 2008 the club plays its home matches at Fairfield Park in Fairfield.
