Fitzgerald & Fitzgerald

Fitzgerald & Fitzgerald, P.C. is a civil litigation law firm headquartered in New York City. Formed in 1971 by New York native and former Legal Aide attorney John E. Fitzgerald. The second "Fitzgerald" refers to Mr. Fitzgerald's wife, an attorney who has not practiced in over two decades. Currently, the firm employees 13 attorneys. The Firm specializes in complex litigation, particularly lead poisoning and malpractice leading to birth injuries. The firm operates on a contingency fee basis, whereby a portion of any award is retained by the law firm.
Fitzgerald & Fitzgerald regularly advertises in the New York City Subway system. Its original advertisements featured the image of a fighting leprachaun and a slogan, written by John Fitzgerald: "We fight for brain damaged children." The slogan has since been toned down to the more innocuous "We fight for your rights." The subway ads also mention several top verdicts, citing awards up to $30 Million. Several of these awards, however, are qualified by conspicuous footnotes.
