User talk:Fishal/Civilization

Dear Fishal
Yes I like it. It seems to be coming together in a much more logical fashion.
One thing you leave out is the normative meaning of civilised as oposed to "uncouth" "savage" or "barbarian". Civilised also applies to etiquette as well as social anthropology. This trend needs to be mentioned at least.
I see there is still much work needing to be done.
You also leave out the section on Atlantis, Mu and Lemuria as places of mythic civilisations. Given their importance in esoteric and cultic throught (Spiritualism, Theosophy, Anthroposophy etc) they are important in an article on civilisation if only to have a pointer to them.
I have been reading Karen Armstrong's "The Great Transformation" which enlarges upon Karl Jaspers's theories of Axial Age. In any article on civilisation this needs to have some emphasis as it effectively was what separated "ancient civilisations" from "classical civilisations".
Hope this helps

John
