Something need to be in this article about how Nashville Gas Company cut the gas off to Fisk years ago, which forced the deteriorating financial situation to be addressed and eventually at least partially corrected; also the Van Vetchen Gallery and the Steigliz Collection. [edit] They sang to raise money

This article properly credits negroes with the raising of funds. Many other articles relating to negroes claim that funds were gifts. New International Encyclopedia relates that the "jubilee singers" were students who toured the United States and Great Britain, raising $150,000 for the institutions needs. In 1920 the General Education Board offered to give $500,000 on condition that the University raise $1,000,000 (which means that there was a string attached). Fisk was a small school. There were only 516 students in 1914 and 517 in 1923-24. GhostofSuperslum 03:14, 11 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Questioning the Honorable

I don't believe that it is proper to apply the term "the Honorable" to Mrs. O'Leary now that she is no longer a federal employee. Judges are called "the Honorable" for life, but appointed officials lose that title after they leave the position which gave them the right to be called "the Honorable." theHonorable high-and-mighty aristocratic GhostofSuperslum 16:09, 11 October 2006 (UTC) crazy people
