Talk:Fiscal autonomy for Scotland
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Is this a content fork of Scottish independence? It doesn't deal with the concept of Fiscal autonomy at all, but seems to be political soapboxing with selective quotes. I urge a rapid rethink. I'm inclined to nominate this for deletion if this cannot represent a neutral, worldwide view. -- Jza84 · (talk) 00:55, 8 February 2008 (UTC)
- Hi there. I started this article initially because I was surprised to discover that no article existed on quite an important matter within Scottish politics. (I teach Scottish politics and would expect some students to look up the phrase for themselves.) What I originally wrote has been changed - perhaps you may prefer the version I wrote before it was edited to what it is now? I accept that the article is a Scottish topic and not a world view - perhaps we should move it to 'Scottish fiscal autonomy'. Cheers Fishiehelper2 (talk) 01:16, 8 February 2008 (UTC)

- Hello, and thanks for the rapid contact. The article is very problematic and seems at odds with several of Wikipedia's core principles, namely, no original research, neutral point of view, and no political soapboxing. Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not also outlines some pointers as to why this article needs an urgent rethink/rehash and may not be suitable as an article in its current form.

- Though I believe you've created this article in good faith, from what you've just shared, the article could be interpretted as a conflict of interest. May I recommend an urgent toning down and more worldwide view of fiscal autonomy? -- Jza84 · (talk) 01:28, 8 February 2008 (UTC)
- Hi there. I'm relatively new to editing but I am surprised that you think what I wrote originally could be viewed as 'not neutral' or 'political soapboxing'. I'll read the policy and then the article again. Cheers Fishiehelper2 (talk) 18:05, 8 February 2008 (UTC)
