Fish Go Deep are an Irish production duo consisting of Greg Dowling and Shane Johnson from Cork. They have been releasing house records under this name since 1998 and in 2006 they reached number 1 on both the dance chart and indie chart with their track "The Cure & the Cause". The track featured vocals from Tracey Kelleher and was remixed by two soulful house veterans, Dennis Ferrer and DJ Memê.
"The Cure and the cause" originally missed the UK Top 75 but was re-released later in the year where it finally became a hit in the UK, peaking at 23.
Previous to their release of "Fish Go Deep Vol One", on Eventual Records in 1998, the duo did produce another record called "In Motion" on Red Records as Fishgotech in 1994. Other releases under the name Fishgotech include "Silver" on Red Records.

[edit] Background
Both Greg & Shane played an integral part in the emergence of house music in Cork City between the years of 1988 and 2001 as their well renowned "Sweat" night at Sir Henrys helped to attract a host of talent, such as Kerri Chandler, Arnold Jarvis, Laurant Garnier, DJ Deep, Jerome Sydenham, Roger Sanchez, Glenn Underground, Boo Williams, Cajmere, Gemini, Derrick May, Kevin Yost, Migs, Rasoul and Fred Everything to say just a few.
In recent years, Fish Go Deep tracks have been included on dozens of compilations, on labels in the US, Canada, UK, France, Spain, Italy, Germany, Ireland, South Africa and Asia.
As well as this, Fish Go Deep, along with fellow Cork Producer Mark O'Sullvian, set up Ork recordings in 2005 with the help of the organising committee for Cork, European Capital of Culture 2005. The label is based in Cork and Stockholm, Sweden and thus far has released singles such as ESL, Disco and Soul V.2, continuously receiving critical acclaim from such producers as Jimpster (Free Range Records) and Charles Webster (Miso Records). Ork recordings was primarily setup as an electronic muisc outlet from which new and established artists can promote their work.
Greg and Shane present "Go Deep", a weekly house music show on Cork's RedFM 104-106, on Friday nights from 9-11pm.
The Duo also used to entertain the Cork public with a "Go Deep" party every Saturday night in Fast Eddies nightclub, Tuckey Street, Cork. A recent statement on fishgodeep.com has declared that their residency in Fast Eddies has unfortunately come to an end. Fish Go Deep stated that they will be taking up residency in a club in Dublin sometime in the near future once they finish a tour.
