[edit] Control engineering
Hello - I think the recent edit you made in Control engineering is very much to the point. Since most of the control design now days are already implemented on computers (instead of the traditional op-amps or DSPs), the falling microprocessor price really doesn't apply (you could argue that DSPs are affected). The focus has always been on how closely a control design can approximate the actual physical model, and the prices sentence should be deleted. --Jiuguang Wang (talk) 14:21, 6 May 2008 (UTC)
- I thought about just deleting it, but thought it might be a better idea to see if there is any actual evidence to backup the statement, but don`t think there is much of a relationship between processor cost and difficulty of implementing a control system, if you have a complex model then processing power might be an issue and falling cost might help with that, but in general I would say difficulty of implementation falls else where, and knowledge of mechanical engineering hasn't changed in importance, assuming your working on a mechanical system, not a chemical, biological or some other kind of system where mechanical engineering doesn't directly apply--Firebladed (talk) 14:52, 6 May 2008 (UTC)
