ABOUT ME
I grew up in Lebanon, I like the way it feels here. This city is where my family is . . . I would rather be here than -- anywhere. The horizon, fields, mountains receding out past into the distance, connected all the same to a childhood, efforts and exertion, a past that does not dissipate ever in my mind. Beautiful. All my life I have been surrounded by beauty and violence. In many forms. Outside, inside, more difficult to contain. I'm not a difficult person to . . . get along with but I am sometimes, to certain people, difficult to understand. Myself especially. I don't know, I think there are many things inside a person, waiting to breathe, moving, turning over in the darkness, in the light. In myself I feel there are many selves, each complete and separate. I can say I do like to meet people, the first moments of an interaction, the face before me and as a consumption, an understanding. Thinking of how much is real, how much is based on those same perceptions, where it meets, as the opposition delineates,
Interest
Other selves, other worlds, broken things. Dark eyes, rough skin. Nightlife. Seeds and roots. Philters and innate ways of being. Instincts, knives. Alternate realities, wisps of smoke. Fire,abilities. Dreaming. Weaving, folding, unraveling. Desire. The scent of jasmine. The clarity pain brings. Deliberate acts and movements. Minds and bodies,their lines, definition. My mind's eye. The calm before the storm. Mountains. Altered states. Lightning. My own anger, when the source is warranted or unknown. The end. Animals. The beginning. Scars, marks, intimations. Keeping things separated. Mirrors, reflective surfaces, rivers. Pupils. Truth. Denial through effort and strain. Silence. Escape. Identifying desire, isolating need. Running. Hunger. Extensions and channeling. Leaving myself behind. The pursuit of knowledge. Sweetness. Consumption. Intertwining. Secret missions. Withholding judgment. Seeing. Tasting. Touching skin. Mangos. Tunas. Pressing against, tracing paths. Examining shadows. Discovery. Exposure, bare skin. Candlelight. Moisture. Fruit. Strength. Abandon, will. Strangers. Circumstances. Acknowledgment and acceptance. Children, Martyrs, People who do not look away or avoid, lose themselves but project themselves, what is inside them to fighting for those who cannot fight for themselves. People with the desire and ability to make this world . . . something else entirely. Those who are humble and strong, without fear or hesitation. People who think, and try, search, believe, dream.
