Merge, merge! Isopropyl 07:08, 31 March 2006 (UTC)

Don't merge. The First Church of Christ, Scientist in Boston is an important landmark of this city and deserves its own article, not just a section of the article about the Church of Christ, Scientist in general. --Mihai 20:14, 24 May 2006 (UTC)

Don't merge as per Mihai above. Technically, however, this should probably be redirected to Christian Science Center (rather than the other way around as it is now) as the First Church of Christ, Scientist is only the oldest building on the site. Digitalican 18:22, 6 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Do not merge; Rename

Absolutely, no question, do not merge this article with the article "Church of Christ, Scientist". The later is a religious denomination; this article is about a Boston landmark and tourist attraction visited by countless people each year, most of whom have no knowledge or interest in Christian Science. However, I think the article should be called either Christian Science Center (the common name) or Christian Science Plaza (the official name for the whole place including the reflecting pool, the Mapparium, etc.) If I see no objections, I will rename the article on Dec 14, 2006. Thanks to all interested parties. HouseOfScandal 23:48, 10 December 2006

There are a number of other historic churches of this denomination throughout the country with this name. Perhaps this should be renamed "First Church of Christ, Scientist (Boston)". Just look at the "What links here" for this article to see what I mean. It needn't be changed at all in the article's text, just moved to the new name. This is on our list (the NHRP project, that is) to make a disambiguation page for anyway, due to how many of these there are (not to mention "Second Church", etc.) -Ebyabe 00:47, 13 January 2007 (UTC)

Technically, the "The First Church of Christ, Scientist" is reserved for the Boston Church, all others referred to as simply "First Church of Christ, Scientist Anywhere (where anywhere is the particular location.) This is according to the Church Manual. Your previous redirections are really incorrect in this respect. Digitalican 15:06, 14 March 2007 (UTC)
