Talk:Firearms unit

I essentially added the sentence, "The British police are generally unarmed", to give the section context. The previous version of the article did not denote the Firearms Unit as a British police function. I also added links to SWAT, and Armed Response Vehicles.

[edit] Merge with Specialist Firearms Command?
Could this be usefully merged with Specialist Firearms Command? There seems to be quite a lot of overlap, but this isn't really my area. --McGeddon (talk) 19:18, 17 January 2008 (UTC)
the merge of the firearms unit its not a good idea they are completely different it would confuse terribly. The Firearms Unit Article explains what it is, where as Specialist Firearms Command has a different agenda of policing and has different history, trust me its not a good idea.
