Comment to my edit dated 06/18/2007:

The Greek War of Independence was in the 19th century, not in the "Ancient Era"!

However, I doubt the usefulness of this whole section anyway. The article is about the general use of fireships through the ages. It seems to be far too specific and overproportionate for me to include such a detailed description for a single period of time. I would recommend deleting this section, or putting it somewhere more useful (maybe into an article about the Greek War of Independence itself) Greetings, --87.178.74.241 00:40, 18 June 2007 (UTC)

Could the USS Cole bombing be considered a recent use of a "Fire ship"?

[edit] Merger proposal

The artile Hellburners appears to be sub-topic of Fire ship. As there is so little material in Hellburners, I belive it would work better as a sub-topic to Fire ship. --StuffOfInterest (talk) 15:58, 10 March 2008 (UTC)

Well, in fact much information on the hellburners is available. As they were rather untypical vessels and the term itself is quite (in)famous, I feel it is best to keep separate articles. I've already expanded hellburners somewhat.--MWAK (talk) 07:08, 27 March 2008 (UTC)
Since this merger was proposed the Hellburner article has been considerably expanded. I believe this proposal should be retired, since the concern that triggered it no longer applies. Geo Swan (talk) 03:04, 26 May 2008 (UTC)
In addition, I think User:87.178.74.241's concern about the section on the use in the Greek war being disproportionately specific would apply to this merger. Geo Swan (talk) 03:06, 26 May 2008 (UTC)
