But is Jack Chick a preacher or a comic book artist? -- modifying slightly. The guy deserves a mention, but not as a preacher. -- dino
He's a comic book artist and writer first and foremost, although there are alleged recordings of his preaching. These recordings were supposedly given as "gifts" to his personal friends who were in the ministry.Jlujan69 01:50, 12 May 2006 (UTC)
- Changed 'conservative' to 'radical' as this is a better description as these preachers often are not faithful to Orthodox & Catholic Christian doctrine, thus placing them squarely in the revolutionary wing of christianity.
I took out the part on the Seventh-Day Adventist Church because much of the information seemed irrelevant, if someone wants to reinsert it edited to a higher quality that would be great. CugeltheClever 15:29, 18 September 2006 (UTC)CugeltheClever
[edit] Fire and Brimstone
I don't think anyone in the West has heard a truly fire and brimstone sermon for a long time. John MacArthur is perhaps the closest well known very-conservative preacher in our time, and he doesn't quite preach at the Jonathan Edwards level. Outside the West it is still popular, in particular Africa and China (in underground churches), and rarely in Chinese disposra and Hong Kong, Taiwanese, and Singaporean churches. No scholarly researches here, but I will let others find. --JNZ (talk) 22:08, 25 January 2008 (UTC)
