[edit] US and European Release date
There is NO official relase date for the US or Europe. EB games and Gamefaqs are NOT offical, they do not decide. The first people to know will be Nintendo of America, and until a website is made, info is put into Nintendo Power magazine, or other OFFICAL announcement, ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING ELSE is speculation. Please respect this fact. Antsam 20:04, 20 February 2007 (UTC)
There isn't? it came out last month in Japan!? --TheGreenLink 18:37, 15 March 2007 (UTC)
- It was released in Japan last month, but the official released date for North America and Europe has not yet been announced by any official source (Nintendo of America/Nintendo of Europe, etc.) Speculative release dates as posted on EB Games and GameFAQs before such announcements are made are almost always inaccurate. --Hailinel 18:49, 15 March 2007 (UTC)
For some reason, the article is listing two US release dates, both unsourced. Can we come up with a source for at least one of them and correct the other? Rebochan 13:58, 2 April 2007 (UTC)
- I have returned it to TBA 2007. June 1 is a plaseholder date used by retailers (retailers usually use the 1st, 15th, and 30th/31st as placholder dates). Not only has Nintendo not announced a US release dare (and FE was not listed in their Q2 release date schedule, so July is the earliest we will see it), but it's unlikely Nintendo would release the game on a Friday (which June 1 is). TJ Spyke 20:48, 17 April 2007 (UTC)
Does anybody know if the game will be released in Europe? Cause there are no release dates, right? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 83.209.5.150 (talk) 18:38, 5 November 2007 (UTC)
I think it might, I emailed NOE (nintendo of europe) about a release date but I was replied with that it hasn't been confirmed yet.(Arvilino 21:14, 7 November 2007 (UTC))
[edit] Character List
I think it needs major reordering, at least seperate playables and non playable characters, as soon as the information is confirmed. Antsam 12:21, 22 February 2007 (UTC)
I nominate deletion of ALL character biographies from the front page, save for MAJOR characters. I think this is reasoanble because it would be ridiculous to have biographries for 30 playable characters, and more non playables. To compensate, a secondary page DEDICATED to characters would be more practical and more appro. Additionally, it would mirror the Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance page. Antsam 12:21, 22 February 2007 (UTC)
- I created a seperate character page an populated it with the info from the front. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Antsam (talk • contribs) 12:46, 22 February 2007 (UTC).
I would like pictures of the major characters, new pictures from goddess of dawn,
[edit] Sothe
Sothe as a main character?? that's weird...I got him dead (in my game) because he just sucked...Volke is enough. Armando.Otalk • Ev 18:10, 24 February 2007 (UTC)
- This is a general information article, not a game discussion board, go to Gamefaqs or other game sites to talk strategy. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Antsam (talk • contribs) 23:28, 24 February 2007 (UTC).
He isn't a lord though, he's more of a Jeigan than anything because his class is Rogue, a generic class also used by Heather in this game 60.229.18.250 10:07, 25 February 2007 (UTC)
- Not quite true; as late as chapt 3 of part 4, sothe's death ends the game. I speculate this holds true throughout the whole game. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Mr Bucket (talk • contribs) 20:08, 5 March 2007 (UTC).
- In the final chapter, and perhaps before, Sothe's survival is no longer required to pass the game (only Ike and Micaiah's is). Add to the fact that he cannot seize castles ever, makes him seem like an important character rather than a Lord (like Elincia was in FE9). Also he doesn't get a Prf weapon, while the other Lords (and even Mist) do. Aveyn Knight 20:07, 8 March 2007 (UTC)
- Just because he starts out high powered doesn't make him a "Jeigan:, there's no real archetype it's just how it's done every game he's there because alot of the enemies tend to be powerful and you need someone who can help defend your units and he force-promotes that's not something a so-called Jeigan does. And just because a character doesn't have a personal weapon doesn't make them important to the story. Besides he should be added to the important story parts anyhow it's allowed for Elincia to die also later in the game same for Sothe. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Shiitsu (talk • contribs) 02:09, 18 March 2007 (UTC).
He may just be an essential part of the story line-like Soren was to POR. When Soren dies in POR, he is simply told to get of the battlefield. He still appears in later dialouge however. -Sage1989
[edit] Weapon Types
The article says that there will be three new weapon/magic types: knife, strike, and dark magic. But Dark Magic was available in previous FE titles, and thieves used knives all through Path of Radiance. Why are those listed as new, then? Gear-Richie 05:25, 27 February 2007 (UTC)
- Dark Magic wasn't in Path of Radiance, and knives are more fleshed out --Hailinel 07:02, 27 February 2007 (UTC)
There are way more knives in Goddess of Dawn. And just because dark magic wasn't in POR doesn't mean it isn't in this game. Heck there's even dark magic for sale that you can buy and there are two characters both only obtainable via second play-through that can use it anyhow.-Shiitsu 9:02 16, March 2007
[edit] Box Art
I think the Japanese box art should be permenantly affixed to the page, since it was the first version to come out.
- I don't agree. It's customary across Wikipedia video game articles that the English language box art be used, including the articles for the previous three Fire Emblems. Once the North American box art becomes available, it should replace the Japanese art.--Hailinel 08:21, 2 March 2007 (UTC)
I beleive that the English version of the box art should replace the Japanease Box art when it is releseased. This is, after all, the English version of Wikipedia.ATRUEZELDAFAN 12:35, 2 March 2007 (UTC)
- Considering every game that has the English versoin instead of the japanese version of the boxart for every game that has an image on Wikipedia yeah that's the way it should be done. :Shiitsu 9:02 16, March 2007

[edit] Release date edit war
Okay guys, you've caused quite a dispute so far. When you have issues such as this, STOP reverting each others' edits and START discussing on the talk page. Continued abuse may see warnings issued on your talk pages. - Sotomura (Tetsuya-san) (yell : see) 23:03, 10 June 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Spoilers
The plot section needs spoiler warnings added, and I have no idea how to do this. Could someone please add them? Otherwise it seems like it's describing the background of the game, as opposed to telling you things which completely spoil the plot for you.
[edit] Release date?
Where did this American "November 2007" release date come from? Please cite. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Le Peregrine (talk • contribs) 00:16, 11th July 2007 (UTC).
- Should be November 5 actually, from http://press.nintendo.com/articles.jsp?id=12944 69.8.212.254 20:09, 11 July 2007 (UTC)
That's wonderful. Thankyou!!! Peregrine 02:29, 12 July 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Article name
Is there a spesific reason to have this article with a transliterated Japanese name? All the other Fire Emblem games that have English titles have articles with their English name. –KirvesAxe 02:10, 9 August 2007 (UTC)
- Has an official English title been given? Last I heard, Goddess of Dawn was a translated name and not made official by Nintendo of America. - Sotomura (Tetsuya-san) (yell : see) 03:12, 9 August 2007 (UTC)
- You're right, Goddess of Dawn is not the official name. The only official name that has been given, in English, is just Fire Emblem. It shouldn't be long until we get an official English name anyway. Aveyn Knight 13:50, 10 August 2007 (UTC)
Well now according to Nintendo Power, it's Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn.—Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.122.14.152 (talk)
- Please sign comments. Anyways, I have heard this as well. I should be able to confirm the title when I receive my issue. Until then, has anyone received a copy of Nintendo Power, Issue 220? It is supposed to be listed on p. 21 of that issue. I checked at WP:VG/M and nobody is listed for that (or any other recent issue) for verification. Infernal Inferno 00:16, 24 August 2007 (UTC)
- I have a copy of the issue now, and it does indeed list the title as Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn. I'm going to give a day or two for other editor input, but if I don't hear anything I'm going to move this to the new title. Infernal Inferno 23:28, 24 August 2007 (UTC)
- Just go ahead, but be sure to cite your sources ({{cite journal}}?). Axem Titanium 01:13, 25 August 2007 (UTC)
- I have a question about the issue date in the citation template. The magazine claims to be the issue for October 2007. Clearly it isn't October though, that's over a month in the future. Do I report their date or make a guess at the actual publication date? Infernal Inferno 04:21, 25 August 2007 (UTC)
- Use October, it would get too confusing otherwise. Axem Titanium 06:04, 25 August 2007 (UTC)

- I can go one step further - Nintendo has a playable demo of the game on the Penny Arcade Expo show floor. The new title is "Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn". I took a picture of it for records. I can also confirm a few English name changes for characters. Here is a cite showing the game is actually on the show floor. With that in mind, it's definitely time to move the article now that we have an official title from Nintendo themselves. Rebochan 05:48, 25 August 2007 (UTC)
- Alright, I'm going to do the move to Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn. It's my first, so hopefully I don't screw anything up. Infernal Inferno 19:23, 25 August 2007 (UTC)
- We have arrived. I also moved the character list to List of characters in Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn. I didn't fix double redirects yet, nor did I update references to Akatsuki no Megami to Radiant Dawn here or anywhere else. Infernal Inferno 19:42, 25 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Name of Guy with white Bandana and green stripes on face
I keep seeing pics of this guy > http://img135.imageshack.us/img135/9279/00255zk8.jpg. And I've been wondering if he's part of the Radiant Dawn universe. And one of the many recruitable characters in the game.Zeta26 19:19, 23 June 2007 (UTC)
- This guy? Yeah, he's in the Tellius universe. Aveyn Knight 17:52, 25 October 2007 (UTC)
- Correct that ^^. He is recruitable instantly when you recruit his adopted son [Tormod]. Zeta26 08:51, 29 October 2007 (UTC)
He is Muarim, he appeared in the last game. He comes early in the game, along with a new raven character as well as Tormod. Unfortunately, he doesnt have the demi band anymore... —Preceding unsigned comment added by 168.170.197.10 (talk) 15:44, 7 November 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Reviews
Hmm, for the 1up review, is it notable for the purposes of this article that the reviewer thinks it may be overshadowed by Super Mario Galaxy? It has a ring of irrelevancy when it sounds in my ears, but I'd like to sound out other people's opinions first. Also, I can post the reviews of the game up but I don't know how to format external reference footnotes and someone else will have to do that. Finally, if reviews of FE10 state blatantly false information about the game should it be mentioned? (for instance saying that character death "usually" means a game over, which is true for....the first 4 chapters of the game counting the intro).--159.28.7.137 22:05, 9 November 2007 (UTC)
[edit] "Fix" for Data Transfer Error
The article claims that nintendo is working on a fix for the data transfer error. Anyone have a source for that? Asiaknight at gamefaqs claimed that he visited nintendo's support center in redmond WA (he lives nearby) and they told him that the transfer error was a glitch that was discovered by the testers before the game was released. They said nothing about fixing it, at least not to him.--159.28.7.137 22:11, 9 November 2007 (UTC)
- On GameFAQ's board Nintendo just said to be sure not to have any Easy-mode files saved on the card. But what if you have one normal and one hard epilogue file? Nintenboy01 19:10, 12 November 2007 (UTC)
I would really like a source on this reported fix on the way as well. I sent an e-mail to nintendo about this and I hope I can get a response. -- 19:26, 18 November 2007
- After sending an email, I got this response:
- Please note that we are aware of this issue and are currently looking to see what solutions may be possible. I have noted your e-mail address; if a solution becomes available, we will e-mail you with more information. Thank you for your patience in this matter.
- Well things seem to look hopeful, but it isn't really clear either way. -- 20:26, 19 November 2007
-
- Hopefully they just release an online patch soon rather than us having to trade in the discs for new bug-free copies. Luckily my Normal Epilogue file loaded witohout problems. Nintenboy01 (talk) 19:28, 20 November 2007 (UTC)

- Check it out I just got another e-mail from Nintendo:
- Hello,
-
-
-
- You recently contacted us regarding an issue you encountered when transferring your Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance save file to your Wii console for use with Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn. We are pleased to announce that there is a solution for this issue that will be ready mid-December.
-
-
-
- This solution will require sending in your Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn game disc in for repair. Once the disc is returned to you, you may then transfer the Path of Radiance save file information into a new Radiant Dawn save file.
-
-
-
- This solution will require sending in your Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn game disk in for repair. To this end, please respond with your name, address, and phone number. When everything is in place, we will set up a warranty repair for your game and email you repair instructions. We appreciate your continued patience in this matter.

- Thank you.

- Quite weird, and I wonder if they actually "repair" the disc or simply exchange it for a newer copy? It would be more convenient for many of us if they just released an online update too... Nintenboy01 (talk) 15:02, 23 November 2007 (UTC)
- When they say "send in for repair" it really just means sending in your bugged game disc so that they'll send you a new disc with the proper error fixes in place. The way that the game and the Wii System Memory is designed, I don't believe that an online patch would really be a feasible option.--4.243.35.19 (talk) 19:49, 1 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Wii Firmware Version
Does anyone know which firmware version is contained in the RD disc? Is it 3.0 or 3.1? Nintenboy01 (talk) 19:14, 19 November 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Plot reduction
When reducing the plot material, try to summarize each of the parts in under 5-6 sentences. I would do the rest; however, I only just started on Part II of the game. KyuuA4 (talk) 07:39, 20 December 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Muarim Bug
Say fellas, I just wanted to ask if Muarim's character description in your copies of Radiant Dawn is also a duplicate of Mist's. What an unforgivable oversight! Will this ever be corrected? Nintenboy01 (talk) 05:09, 28 December 2007 (UTC)
- It is an obvious error and seems like it should be an easy fix since all that really happened was Muarim's descriptor flag got mixed up with a duplicate of Mist's. I wouldn't be surprised if the bug is corrected in the revised build containing the fix for the data transfer bug, but there's no guarantees. How the bug was left in there in the first place, I have no idea other than to say that someone wasn't paying attention.--4.243.35.19 (talk) 19:45, 1 January 2008 (UTC)
- I never bothered mailing in my copy since the data transfer worked fine for me. If anyone gets a revised build of the game, please let us know if Muarim's description has also been corrected so we can perhaps make a small mention of it in the article. Nintenboy01 (talk) 21:45, 1 January 2008 (UTC)
