I am new to writing on Wikipedia, and would like to learn why there is a need for an article on car fires? Was this requested, or was the lack of a car fire article discovered by some 'bot? Sorry to say it but i was quite offended by this page, the pictures of 9/11 and news of people having died in fires, i don't undersatdn why there's a news section, not once have i heard of a fire and it been good news.plokt 19:57, 4 June 2007 (UTC)

Sorry you feel that way. Fire is often in the news, and it should be included in this portal to cover all angles, like all portals attempt to do. This one just hasn't been updated in a while. I will try and fix that this week. --Daysleeper47 03:46, 5 June 2007 (UTC)

I was going to agree with you but I did find something on the matter in the Fire article: Controlling Fire. Also there's a specific page on early history of human use of fire: Control_of_fire_by_early_humans. It must be said that this content wasn't available in August, when Medler added his note. - manu3d 23:44, 2 December 2007 (UTC)
