First Belgrade Gymnasium

First Belgrade Gymnasium is one of the most prominent gymnasiums (secondary schools) in Belgrade, Serbia. It was founded in 1839 and it was an elite school at the time. Many famous Serbs went there, including: Mihajlo Petrovic Alas, Jovan Cvijic, Jovan Skerlic, Sima Lozanic, Aleksandar Belic, Ljubomir Stojanovic, Aleksandar Deroko and many others. Serbian President Boris Tadić was a professor of psychology in that school. Today it is one of the toughest schools in Serbia and it has a long tradition.
