The Fire Equipment Manufacturers' Association or FEMA is an international, non-profit trade association for manufacturers of commercial fire protection equipment including portable fire extinguishers, pre-engineered fire suppression systems, standpipe fire hose stations and interior equipment. Founded in 1930, its mission is to educate others about the importance of balanced fire protection, which focuses on the premise that safety to life does not depend solely on any single safeguard.
