Fioravanti (soft drink)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Fioravanti is one of the oldest soft drinks in the world. It was first sold in 1878 in Ecuador. It was acquired by the Coca-Cola Company in 1991. It is a fruit-flavored, carbonated, soft drink available firstly in strawberry flavor, and later also in apple flavor. In the summer of 2001, a grape flavor was added, but lasted around 1 year and it was removed. There was also a Fiora manzana verde (green apple), with a strong green color, that also didn't succeeded in the Ecuadorian market.

In Ecuador it is almost a tradition to drink Fioravanti. It is commonly known as Fiora fresa (strawberry) or manzana (apple).

Due to the high number of Ecuadorian immigrants in Spain, Coca-Cola has decided to bring strawberry-flavored Fioravanti to Spain, for a three-month test starting in mid-October 2006.[1]
