Fiona Balfour

Fiona Balfour is an Australian businesswoman. She is best known for the changes she made at Qantas during the 1990s, having joined the airline in 1992.[1] In 2006, she was Telstra's high profile appointment as Chief Information Officer.[2] She shocked many by leaving that position only 10 months into her term.

Prior to joining Qantas, she had worked for a range of management consulting firms and the Victorian Public Service. Balfour holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) from Monash University.[3] She has received numerous honours for her work, such as the Pearcey Medal and the Award for Excellence in Management from the Australian Telecommunications Users Group.
