[edit] My political viewpoints
- Free voting: definitely agree
- Censorship on political issues: Definitely disagree (despite the very few exceptions)
- Censorship on personal information (i.e. deleting certain information containing 'sensitive' personal profile): necessary in order to protect one's privacy
- Ideological freedom: It should be protected as long as it does not promote totalitarianism (fascism) and rugged socio-cultural collectivism.
- Death penalty: only applicable to first-class murderers, rapists, totalitarians (including first-class Human Rights offenders) like Hitler, and Internet privacy offenders.
- Economic liberalism/individualism: I am centre-right to it. However, when it becomes extreme, I think I would harm other varieties of liberalism/individualism.
- Conscription: disagree if the security circumstances allow. (Sadly, Kim Jong-il is still there...)
- School bullying: definitely it MUST NOT exist for no reason.
- Right to gun/rifile possession (effective in the US): applicable to current and reserve commissioned officers only
- Free trade: fairly agree (though I know it would damage certain 'weak' industries.)
- Immigrantion: let it free for those who are prepared to assimilate themseleve with culture, language, etc of the relevant country.
- Organised crime: definitely disagree
- Children education: should be liberal as possible (no rugged discipline)
- Automobile liberties: it's time to begin to limit it because oil crisis is coming. (as a cyclist)
- Corporal punishment at school: disagree (certain teachers had better seek better methods to control their students.)
- Right to whistle-blowing from the inside (i.e. 'interval disclosure'): should be firmly guaranteed
- Shortwave liberties: Surely! :-)
- Globalisation: Welcome! (as for it would spread the three values of liberalism, individualism, and democracy into the world)
- tax cuts: Okay as long as the government budgets are plentiful
- Asian values: Though I am ethnically East Asian (or Korean), I would NEVER be in favour of it; since I believe in the 'three values' stated above. I want to continue to be a liberalist regardless of my ethnicity.
- Anglicisation (wider spread of the English language all over the world): I would say it's 'inevitable', as it is 'difficult' for most people to learn lots of foreign languages. One lingua franca would be the most efficient choice regarding global communication.
