"largest rural town" reads like "tallest dwarf". Please explain. Joestynes 10:50, 18 October 2005 (UTC)
"largest rural town" - In the district itself, Omagh is the "urban" centre while the outlying towns, villages and hamlets would be classed as "rural". This is in part a hangover from the old urban and rural councils that existed in Northern Ireland before the 1970's.
To avoid any confusion, a small edit to the article has been made to clear up confusion on the matter, now stating it as the second largest in the district rather than "largest rural". Tyrone Soul 16:30, 19 October 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Village or Town?
While the NIRSA, as mentioned in the article, classifies Fintona as a village due to its population, the local Omagh District Council classifies Fintona as a town [1] and almost everyone who lives in Fintona calls it a town too. Would it be OK to describe Fintona as a town in this article rather than a village? Lawhec 14:31, 21 July 2007 (UTC)
