Talk:Finchley Central

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Is Finchley Central really a place?. I've only ever heard it used as part of the name of Finchley Central tube station, and I've always assumed that was saying that the station was in the centre of a place called Finchley, not in a place called Finchley Central. But then I'm not a North Londoner. Anybody from there care to comment?. -- Chris j wood 14:31, 23 Feb 2005 (UTC)

[edit] finchley central

Is it a real place! I live here! There is Finchley Central, North Finchley, East Finchley, West Finchley... but no South Finchley!

== Church End Finchley == It is properly Church End Finchley, or simply Finchley, it is not Finchley Central; that is the name of the station. A few call it Finchley Central but they are recent arrivals who don't know any better. People from Finchley when shopping call it "Ballards Lane". It is recognised by the local authority and the Ordnance Survey as Church End Finchley. The station has only been called Finchley Central since 1940. I vote we should change this name
