I always thought that the active time system also incorporates the fact that the fight kept going and that enemies could attack you wile you were deciding what to do (or you could sit not doing a comand until an enimy acts first). This would mean that X doesn't use ATB since the action is paused while you choose you action. Also with 10 every action happens instantaneously with no wait time on spells or attacks, only a penalty on your turn order, making it even more so not ATB.140.232.146.171 (talk) 21:30, 22 April 2008 (UTC)

  • I think I misread the main article so my coments about X are off, however those about the enimy being able to attack during a charictures turn are still aplicable.

Final Fantasy invented Real Time Battle system? What? I don't think so. Caciss 19:53, 7 October 2006 (UTC)

Should Kingdom Hearts' battle system be mentioned? After all, it was a Square/SE creation, and featured Final Fantasy aspects including a menu, magic/items, and nearly all the spell/item names came from Final Fantasy. JiangWei23 23:45, 2 December 2006 (UTC)

No, it shouldn't, since it doesn't correspond to any of the battle systems described in the article. Kingdom Hearts uses a battle system that in no way relies on meter charging with separate speeds for separate characters (or is turn-based), and in Kingdom Hearts you only control one character.72.94.7.107 01:16, 15 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Mana series?

What about the half RPG half Zelda style battle system from the Mana series? --Sir Crazyswordsman 04:21, 17 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Move

This article should be renamed. It clearly doesn't deal with all Square Enix battle systems. Kariteh 20:11, 20 May 2007 (UTC)
