Finlandia University is a private university located in Hancock, Michigan, on the Keweenaw Peninsula. Finnish immigrants founded Finlandia in 1896 as Suomi College as the school for the Finnish Evangelical Lutheran Church of America. Approximately 550 students attend Finlandia.
