The standard USB cable supplied with the camera does not provide power.

The connector on the camera is a proprietary shape ("captive cable"). Both the power supply and the data cable use the same connector.

The power supply label says 5 volts at 1.5 amp. The camera label says 5 volts at 3 watts.

Normally, USB can supply power up to 500 mA. Some USB devices supply and consume power at 1A.
