Finam Investment Company, based on which an investment holding of the same name was formed, was established in 1994 and it was one of the concerns that began to provide stock market services in Russia. At present, Finam offers its corporate and private clients one of the widest ranges of investment services – from the option to invest funds into stock market instruments and asset management to the comprehensive support of transactions to buy and sell businesses and capital operations (IPO, private offerings, etc.). The holding pursues an intensive direct investment policy, spending funds on the purchase of high-tech projects. The first mutual fund in Russia for investments in high-tech companies (Finam – Information Technologies) was formed within the holding.

Based on 2007 performance, Finam is
- one of the biggest brokerages in Russia, with an aggregate securities turnover of more than $130 billion. Finam is # 1 in terms of turnover on the stock market among all Russian investment companies,
- the widest regional network. Products and services promoted by Finam Investment Company are available in 90 cities of Russia and it is a dynamically expanding global broker. Finam gained the status of a member on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange and also began to provide services to Japanese investors who trade in Russian equities, and it is one of the primary players on the asset management service market. The net asset value of the mutual funds run by Finam Management jetted 224.13% y-o-y, while individual asset management accounts surged 38%,
- a leading investment bank that deals with IT projects. The holding, to be more precise, mutual fund Finam – Information Technologies, has consolidated blocks of shares in a number of leading Russian and global IT firms,
- a major investor in real estate assets. Mutual fund Finam – Capital Investments ramps up investment in land assets, primarily agricultural lands, also injects funds into commercial real estate assets and other projects,
- a dynamically expanding bank. Bank Finam entered the Top 500 participants on the Russian market and ranks among Russia’s 250 largest banks in terms of consumer loans issued,
- a leader on the Russian equities education market. During the year Training Center Finam provided educational services to over 10,000 investors.
