Final Call was rumored to be AZ's last or second to last album before retirement. The album was going to be released in stores in 2004, but it was leaked onto the Internet long before its release date. Because of feedback on the internet regarding how much of a disappointment it was as a follow-up to Aziatic, AZ decided to abandon the album and leave it only as a bootleg available only on the Internet. He ended up recording an all-new album, A.W.O.L., in 2005. Producer credits for the album are unknown. The album's shelving seemed to make AZ decide to continue recording in the future. When A.W.O.L. was released, AZ stated in many interviews that he had many more albums left.
