C-12: Final Resistance is a video game developed by SCE Studio Cambridge for the PlayStation. It was released in Europe on April 6, 2001 and in North America on July 22, 2002.

The story is set in the future, as aliens have invaded and reduced the planet to ruins. You play as Lieutenant Riley Vaughan, a cybernetically altered human soldier, and member of the underground resistance. You undertake missions played out in a 3rd person view, killing aliens and cyborgs, collecting weapons and keys, and the like. An interesting feature is that of a sniper sight ability, where you can try to get headshots (which will kill most enemies instantly).

The game was criticized for its gameplay similarities to the Syphon Filter series; it was also criticized for its short length. However, it was praised for having some of the best graphics ever seen on PlayStation.

[edit] Common enemies

[edit] Cyborg Drone

These are tall robots armed with sharp pincers and a very long blade attached to one of their arms. They attack by charging at the enemy and stabbing them with the blade. They are much taller than humans and are very well armoured, killing them may be a difficulty if you are equipped with a non-firearm. Cyborg Drones tend to lie in wait and attack the first thing that walks past although you may sometimes see them out in the open looking around.

[edit] Cyborg Sniper

Masters of stealth. Cyborg snipers hide away in buildings and shoot whatever they see as a threat. They are very difficult to see, the only way you'll know when one is around is by the red laser that is equipped on their rifles. The rifles of these cyborgs takes time to fire, once the laser is in position, you will hear a strange sound which gets more high pitched. This is the sound of the rifle charging up and readying to fire. After, an orange beam will fall down and hit anything in its path. The best way to look for a sniper is to follow the direction of the beam upwards, you may get a rough idea where a sniper is lurking about.

[edit] Cyborg Soldier

Cyborg soldiers are tough enemies, they are heavily armoured and armed with a very powerful machine gun. They stand taller than the cyborg drones and do not need to hide away. Getting close to these is not the best of ideas as they can also throw a powerful punch. Although they are not as vulnerable to bullets as most other cyborgs are, they do nonetheless have weak spots; shooting them in the head is the best way to get rid of them. They are also highly vulnerable to explosives.
