[edit] Template use

How are the bots treating this template? Are they accepting it for now? What about hand-taggers, are they leaving images alone if they have this one?

In the long run it would be better to parameterize this with an "Article=" and "Use=" parameter. That will help the transition (if any) once we go to a set of standardized use rationale templates - see Wikipedia:Non-free content criteria/Proposal and associated talk page. It's a little too early to know what those will look like though, and film posters are not in the first batch. But having the article name as part of the rationale will make these easier to convert and update if necessary than looking for the article name in a heading. Also, an affirmative statement of what it's used for will make a stronger argument in my opinion for simply trusting all of these than an instructional statement that it's only intended for use as a poster used to identify the film.Wikidemo 20:46, 8 November 2007 (UTC)
