Filthy Little Angels is an independent record label based in Nelson, Lancashire, UK and Los Angeles, USA. Formed after the founders met on Ebay[1], Filthy Little Angels has been embraced by the online community and bloggers thanks to the diverse range of music it provides and large themed free mp3 downloads[2][3][4][5]. These have included bands on the roster covering songs from the Rocky Horror Picture Show and Grease as well as numerous Christmas Themed compilations[6]. In 2007 Filthy Little Angels was named by Huw Stephens of BBC Radio One as his DIY label of the week,[7] and their website was named Website of the week by Steve Lamacq of BBC Radio One

Other Information

  • Artwork Error: Angel 001 (CD version of October All Over "the Sixteen Channels") is incorrectly labeled as Filthy 001.
  • Artwork Error: On the artwork for The Stereomorphonium EP the track "Plight Of The Manhatanite" is misspelled "Plight Of The Manhatenite"
  • Artwork Error: Mynx / Alice and the Enemies Split 7 " was intended to be pressed on red vinyl. however the pressing plant pressed it on the same hot pink that The Violets / The Swear split 7" had been pressed on. The sleeve to this 7" also omits Alice & The Enemies 3rd track "Rush".
  • Pressing Error: The Long Blondes / The Boyfriends 7" test pressing had a glitch within the song Autonomy Boy. only 5 copies of this record exist.
  • Pressing Error: Projekt A Ko / Horowitz 7" has a 1 minute gap between the 2 Horowitz tracks due to a faulty master cd.

As with most labels releases are planned that never materialise for one reason or another here are a few shelved FLA releases.

  • EP1 Pinks / Frauds
Pinks (French Band) Frauds(sheilla chipperfield: ex-Elastica). Frauds tracks never materialised. The 2 Pinks tracks would later appear on the 2 FLA xmas albums. Artwork for the release involved a very blurry and high contrast picture of a girls panties.
  • EP3 The Futureheads/This Aint Vegas
EP3 Written From Negative / This Aint Vegas
    EP3 Written From Negative / 3rd Planetarium

Intended to feature old Futureheads demos. management were against it. A replacement band was found (written from negative), but then This Aint Vegas also pulled out of the release and the whole idea was shelved.
  • EP4 Art Brut / Neils Children
EP4 Art Brut / Flop Idol Dan

Intended to feature the Art Brut track "Good Weekend". No suitable match could be found that was to Chris Chinchilla's liking. the ep was canned. Though FLA later worked with The Art Goblins, and Neils Children did appeared on the album "Down To Grease On Holiday".
  • EP6 October All Over / We Will Be Pilots
Due to a lack of funds this ep never materialised the plan was to have it in the same style as the 1st 5 singles club EPs. The vinyl would have been black, and the sleeve would have been manilla board with black and white print.
  • EP7 Ant / Jack Hayter
Another casualty of having no money. Would have been on violet vinyl with violet sleeve in the same style as the 1st 5 EPs.
  • Lauren Laverne 7"
Lauren was invited to record a split 7" and agreed, but due to other commitments never had time to do so.
  • 5EPs CD/DVD
Once the first 5 7" eps had been releases, the plan was to press 1000 cd/dvd's featuring all 22 tracks 11 as audio and 11 as video. Most bands failed to deliver a video and so the idea was put on hold and then cancelled.
  • Joyfest DVD
FLA's shambolic attempt at a festival (in association with Joyzine) was all caught on film, however the footage was never delivered to the label and the DVD was scrapped.
  • The Lorrainas
A free download of 3 tracks from their album was planned. Everything had thumbs up, a problem with the delivery of the artwork caused project to be scrapped. (a promotional only CD called "1 Year of Filth" does feature one of these tracks "sticks and stones"). The Lorrainas were also earmarked for a 7" release as part of the singles club. The Riff Randells, who were at the time out of contract, were also approached or this 7" but nothing came of it.
  • The Dykeenies "Dark Times EP"
Following their debut release (on FLA's "Have Yourself A Filthy Little Christmas" album) the plan was to release a free 3 track download ep featuring Dark Time, New Ideas and another song from their 2 demo discs. A catalogue number and artwork (featuring Marilyn Monroe) were put together but the release never happened for reasons unknown.
  • Neils Children "Another Day"
In 2006 Neils Children asked FLA to release their single. Their manager then opted to go with a label that had better distribution.
  • The Swear "Over & Out"
Following their demise Filthy Little Angels wanted to issue all The Swear recordings as a free download album. The band were all happy to do so, but artwork never materialised and the album never happened. The album was mentioned as a forthcoming release on adverts for the "down to GREASE on holiday" album.
  • Singles Club Season 2
bands that were at one time or another cited to appear included Teasing LuLu, Tullycraft, The Ape Drape Escape, White Man Kamikaze, Girl in a Coma, Tres Bien, The Swear, Sunset Gun, Sarah And The Johnsonauts, Awful Sparks, The Mandrakes, The Dykeenies, The Homosexuals, The DeBretts, Das Wanderlust, Beauty Skool Dropout
  • The Odd Fiddler "I Wrote Your Name On A Public Toilet"A catalogue number and artwork for this release were prepared. The album, with a slightly rearranged tracklisting was released on Series Two Records due to internal problems at FLA.
  • Beki and the Bullets / Sidecar Kisses 7"
Sidecar Kisses split up and the 7" was forgotten
