[edit] Career
Filo and Peri were introduced to each other by a mutual friend in 2003. At the time, Filo was primarily into rock music, while Peri favored electronic acts such as Orbital, Underworld, and Kraftwerk. The blending of these two styles is evidenced in many of their tracks. Their first record, "Elevation," was released in 2003 on Armin van Buuren's A State of Trance label. [2] Their most recent hit, "Anthem," released on Vandit Records, features singer Eric Lumiere on vocals. The track has become quite popular, garnering wide play by top DJs such as Paul van Dyk, as well as topping the Billboard Hot Dance Airplay charts, the first trance track ever to do so. The track features a strummed guitar breakdown, quite unusual in the synthesizer driven trance style. "Anthem" has since been remixed by producers such as Nic Chagall, Cicada, Thomas Gold, and John O'Callaghan, and continues to receive heavy play in clubs and on radio shows.
[edit] Virginia Tech Incident
On April 21, 2007, the duo were scheduled to do a show at Virginia Tech. In a blog entry on myspace, Filo and Peri announced that they were cancelling the show, due to the shooting which took place only five days earlier.
