How can I get an award?

An award for what? --pgk 18:55, 15 November 2006 (UTC)

An award for contributions. How do I get it?

There is no prescribed standard, wikipedians give other wikipedians awards because they think they deserve them. Make lots of good contributions and someone may well notice and give you a barnstar. --pgk 18:59, 15 November 2006 (UTC)

Do I deserve a barnstar?

Sorry but I don't give out awards for people just asking for them. Read again what I said make LOTS of good contributions... You've made 23 edits under this account 9 of them to this your own talk page. The first 8 were fixing up a single sentence, I doubt many will consider your contributions sufficient to make a judgement as to if you deserve any award or not. --pgk 19:08, 15 November 2006 (UTC)

How do you create your own awards?

Helpme is primarily aimed at helping people build the encyclopedia, although we don't mind answering the occasional question outside that scope (if we can), please stop continually asking about awards. Our primary aim is to build an encyclopedia, awards are a very minor part of what we do here, if you are only interested in making/giving/receiving awards you've probably got the wrong project. Concentrate on making valuable contributions and I'm sure awards will come your way --pgk 19:19, 15 November 2006 (UTC)

{{helpme}} How do you create your own awards?

For more information on that check out Wikipedia:Barnstars. But I wouldn't worry to much about barnstars. They are more like smiley faces and don't really convey any special rank. ---J.S (T/C) 19:20, 1 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Warnings.

If someone is vandalizing, you can warn them with warnings. If they continue after a final or only warning, you can report them here. Nabudis Shadow (talk) 11:25, 15 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Thank you

Thank you very much for attempting to stop vandalism on my User Page. However, I had logged out and forgot to log back in and was just cleaning up some useless stuff I had put on there.

Thanks again.

[edit] Admin coaching request status

You have expressed interest in undergoing the Admin coaching program. However, after reviewing your edit history, I feel you may need more experience editing (i.e., >2,500 edits & 4 months of activity) on Wikipedia before you can know for certain your ready to begin the process of becoming an administrator. Therefore, at this time, your application for Admin Coaching has been declined.

My suggestion would be to seek adoption from a more experienced user who can help you experience all of the various components of editing an encyclopedia. If you decide adoption is not for you, there is also the editor review process that may help you find areas to improve upon in our editing. If you would like to talk more about this, please feel free to leave me a note at my talk page. MBisanz talk 02:06, 18 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Japanese Music Charts

Hi, I'm just writing to you to request your help and assistance in referencing the Japanese Music Charts. Through out alot of popular english songs I have viewed I have noticed that they have been noted as performing well in Japan and have also read that the Japanese music market it very big. But in saying this every song I have seen has not got a Japanese chart position in the charts box. So if you are into music and willing to try and provide information on the Japanese Music Charts it would be greatly appreciated so then wikipedia users can start adding the Japanese chart positions into the chart boxes for popular songs. TeePee-20.7 (talk) 17:06, 20 April 2008 (UTC)

Thankyou but honestly I wouldn't know where to begin as I can't read or understand Japanese, I don't think I even have the language installed on my computer and if I did I wouldn't know how to find the official charts. I have just gone around asking all the japanese wikipedians for their assistance so we can have a Japanese chart such as the United States' Billboard Hot 100, the U.K. Singles Chart, the Eurochart Hot 100 Singles, the Australian ARIA Singles Chart and so on.
