MOVE because there may be roller hockey, inline hockey, indoor hockey at the Summer Olympics in the future. Ccccccccccc 06:30, 28 January 2006 (UTC)

  • Fine, when there is roller hockey at the Olympics, we can move it. Until then, oppose, obviously, as an entirely unnecessary move. The IOC refers to it as just "hockey". — sjorford (talk) 12:35, 28 January 2006 (UTC)
hardball hockey - Roller Hockey was at the Olympics, 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona. Ccccccccccc 22:14, 30 January 2006 (UTC)
And as I said on the CFD page, it's just a demonstration sport. — sjorford (talk) 09:27, 31 January 2006 (UTC)
  • Support - A more descriptive title - Hockey is a little vague. Ian13|talk 17:07, 30 January 2006 (UTC)
  • Oppose, for the reasons explained by Sjorford. We could add a link on top of the page "For Roller hockey at the Olympics, see Hardball hockey at the Summer Olympics" when such a page will exist. Lvr 09:46, 31 January 2006 (UTC)
  • Oppose Follow the official usage. CalJW 11:16, 1 February 2006 (UTC)

Note: see also Category:Hockey at the Summer Olympics, which is also up for renaming.

[edit] Requested move

Field hockey at the Summer OlympicsHockey at the Summer Olympics — Both organisations neither FIH nor IOC use field hockey, they just name it as hockey, or can be say official name also, i knew that is other type of hockey, like ice hockey which also is a Olympic sport, but IOC name it as Ice Hockey, Wikipedia is much prefer to official name Aleenf1 06:26, 22 October 2006 (UTC)

Add any additional comments:

  • I do agree the "Field" is wrong according to the official names, but for clarity reasons I would prefer to keep it. Besides, there was already a disucssion on that issue. What was the output of it ? Keep also in mind that renaming the article would also mean renaming the category. Lvr 14:41, 26 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] "Olympic Hockey" redirect

Why does "Olympic Hockey" redirect here? I typed that in looking for an article on Olympic Ice Hockey which is a much more popular sport than Field Hockey.Failureofafriend (talk) 00:22, 4 June 2008 (UTC)
