Fido Purpur

Clifford Joseph "Fido" Purpur (September 26, 1912 in Grand Forks, North DakotaFebruary 21, 2001 in Grand Forks, ND) was a professional ice hockey player who played 5 seasons in the National Hockey League for the St. Louis Eagles, Chicago Black Hawks and Detroit Red Wings.

He holds the distinction of being the first person born in North Dakota to play in the National Hockey League. He was inducted into the United States Hockey Hall of Fame in 1974.[1][2]
