[edit] safe for children?

Hi my neighbor gave me a fig tree, and by your picture and description, I believe it is the weeping fig tree. I do not know much (or anything) about them. Are they safe to have around children? Are the leaves, branches, or sap poisonous? In my research I have found no info. on this.
