The FIBA Asia Championship 2007 qualification was held in early 2007 with the Southeast Asia and Middle Asia (Central Asia and South Asia) each conducting tournaments.
In addition to the qualifying tournaments, the top 5 finishers from the FIBA Asia Championship 2005 and the host country (Japan) automatically qualified.

- The top 2 teams advance; top team declared as regional champion.
- A win counts as 2 points, a loss is one point, except for loss by forfeiture which is 0 points.
- Ties are broken as follows:
- The results of the games between the tied teams.
- The goal average between the tied teams.
- The goal average of the tied teams for all competing teams.

The top 5 teams in the previous championship qualified automatically
- 1st: China
- 2nd: Lebanon
- 3rd: Qatar
- 4th: Korea
- 5th: Japan - since Japan qualified as a host, the next best team qualified in place of the 5th-placer.
- 6th: Iran

The Southeast Asia Basketball Association Championship for Men 2007 is the qualifying tournament for the FIBA Asia Championship 2007; it also serves as a regional championship involving Southeast Asian basketball teams. The two teams with the best records advances to the FIBA Asia Championship.
The local name of the tournament held in Ratchaburi, Thailand was 11th Crown Prince Cup International Invitational Basketball Tournament.

The Middle Asia Championship is the qualifying tournament for the FIBA Asia Championship 2007; it also serves as a regional championship involving Central Asian and South Asian nations basketball teams. The teams in the final advance to the FIBA Asia Championship.
The tournament was held at Colombo, Sri Lanka.
