Fi sabil Allah

Fi sabil Allah (في سبيل الله) is an Arabic term meaning in the cause of Allah. In Islamic context, it is to be on the path of Allah. Although it is a wide-ranging term, it is generally interpreted as referring to military Jihad.
This has led to Zakah, a charity tax meant to benefit the poor (being by extension in the cause of Allah's), being ruled by some jurists as to be used for Jihad.
