[edit] License tagging for Image:Photo-silvery-minnow-fws.jpeg

Thanks for uploading Image:Photo-silvery-minnow-fws.jpeg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 22:07, 9 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] The Staff of Forest Guardians

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! We welcome and appreciate your contributions, such as The Staff of Forest Guardians, but we regretfully cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from either web sites or printed material. This article appears to be a direct copy from http://www.fguardians.org/guardians/staff.asp. As a copyright violation, The Staff of Forest Guardians appears to qualify for speedy deletion under the speedy deletion criteria. The Staff of Forest Guardians has been tagged for deletion, and may have been deleted by the time you see this message.

I realise that you probably have permission to copy this article but even so it would be deletable as a {{nn-group}}. Why don't you write a short, non-advert article about Forest Guardians itself instead of courting deletion with a vanity piece such as this? -- RHaworth 18:32, 29 November 2006 (UTC)

Ah, I see that you have already written it! Why have you changed your user ID? We don't like sock puppetry and, he says cynically, the other Id helps conceal the fact that you are self-promoting!

I recommend that you copy User:Thebreathofone/silvery minnow and User:Thebreathofone/forest1 (the latter without the staff and litigation links) into the (Main) namespace as soon as possible. But as to the biography articles and the mug-shot images, I recommend that you mark these with {{db-author}} because they look like you are using Wikipedia as a free host or webspace provider. -- RHaworth 19:04, 29 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned fair use image (Image:Staff-bryan.jpeg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Staff-bryan.jpeg. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that the image is unlicensed for use on Wikipedia and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Chowbok 20:29, 30 November 2006 (UTC)
