Feuer
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Feuer is the German language word for fire.
- Feuer (song)
A song of that name was the German entry in the Eurovision Song Contest 1978, performed in German (according to the rules then in effect) by Ireen Sheer. The song was performed thirteenth on the night (following Turkey's Nilüfer & Nazar with Sevince and preceding Monaco's Caline & Olivier Toussaint with Les Jardins De Monaco). At the close of voting, it had received 84 points, placing 6th in a field of 20.
The song deals with Sheer's philosophy when it comes to romance, specifically that she "will never let [herself] be trained by the men". She likens love to fire, in that it can burn badly.
It was succeeded as German representative at the 1979 Contest by Dschinghis Khan with Dschingis Khan.
