[edit] Deletion proposal

This article was proposed for deletion proposal on the basis that it's a Non-notable regional event

This article should NOT be deleted for various reasons, the 4 most important being:

  1. It attracts every year more than half a million visitors (725 000 in 2007 according to the official site)in a tiny town with a population of 3,826 ;
  2. It has been voted for 9 years in a row Best Outdoor Rodeo in North America by the International Professional Rodeo Association; and
  3. It is one of the few event in the province of Quebec that is considered to have an international recognition
  4. It's an event generaly known by a majority of the population of the province of Quebec. The city of St-Tite is generaly known because of the festival

However, it's hard to improve the article now because most of the information about the size of the event is founded only on the official web-page of the organisation, with no independant references. However, having grown up in St-Tite, this is not a fictionnal event.

The festival is obviously not just a regional event, and as well it is quite notable

This article should be classified as a stub and will eventually grow as more references will be available

I am therefore removing the deletion proposal User:S23678 —Preceding comment was added at 03:36, 8 April 2008 (UTC)

If this festival is notable, there should be newspaper articles and other secondary sources that at least mention it. Even if you were to expand the article with more information from the website, it would be good. At the moment, the article is very short and gives almost no information about the festival.
