[edit] Summary
This is a composite image of two frequency vs. amplitude charts. The magenta trace is from an mp3 file available at www.luketan.com and is purported to be 'feral' white noise. The cyan trace is from a digitally-synthesized white noise file which was analyzed in the same manner. It's clear from the overlay of the two that the 'feral' white noise file has less low frequency information as well as less high-frequency information. There are also some small peaks in the 'feral' sound: one approximately 75 Hz, one approximately 115 Hz and one approximately 6100 Hz.
