Fernando de las Fuentes

Fernando de las Fuentes Hernández (b. August 7, 1960 in Saltillo, Coahuila) is a Mexican lawyer and politician affiliated to the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI) who currently serves as municipal president (mayor) of Saltillo.

De las Fuentes was born to José de las Fuentes Rodríguez and Elsa Hernández. He studied law in the Universidad Autónoma de Coahuila. He is married to Patricia Arizpe with whom he has three children.

A member of the PRI since 1975 de las Fuentes has occupied different positions inside his party in his native Coahuila. From 1999 to 2002 he served as local deputy in the Congress of Coahuila and then he served as federal deputy. He has also served as public notary.

He was elected to serve as municipal president of Saltillo from 2006 to 2009.
