Fernando Daniel Pandolfi (born May 29, 1974 in Buenos Aires) is a former Argentine football striker who played most of his career for first division club Vélez Sársfield. He was part of the team that won several trophies in the mid 90's including the Copa Libertadores and the Intercontinetal Cup in 1994.
Nicknamed "El Rifle", Pandolfi was compared on many occasions to Uruguayan star Enzo Francescoli because of their playing similarities.[citation needed] During his active years in football, he made a short spell in Italian Serie A with Perugia. Towards the end of his career, he also played for Boca Juniors, helping the team win the Copa Libertadores and Intercontinetal Cup back to back. In 2002 while making his third spell with Vélez Sársfield, Pandolfi announced his retirement from football. Nowadays, he plays in an Argentine rock band.
