As of the census[2] of 2000, there were 480 people, 222 households, and 101 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 38.3 people per square mile (14.8/km²). There were 289 housing units at an average density of 23.1/sq mi (8.9/km²). The racial makeup of the CDP was 55.21% White, 0.21% African American, 1.04% Native American, 7.08% Asian, 6.46% Pacific Islander, 2.29% from other races, and 27.71% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 10.00% of the population.
There were 222 households out of which 22.5% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 33.3% were married couples living together, 8.6% had a female householder with no husband present, and 54.1% were non-families. 43.7% of all households were made up of individuals and 6.3% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.16 and the average family size was 3.10.
In the CDP the population was spread out with 22.5% under the age of 18, 4.8% from 18 to 24, 32.9% from 25 to 44, 30.4% from 45 to 64, and 9.4% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 41 years. For every 100 females there were 116.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 118.8 males.
The median income for a household in the CDP was $24,519, and the median income for a family was $33,125. Males had a median income of $40,125 versus $28,333 for females. The per capita income for the CDP was $14,958. About 18.3% of families and 25.5% of the population were below the poverty line, including 10.3% of those under age 18 and 36.8% of those age 65 or over.
