Ferenc Juhász (born July 6, 1960) in Nyíregyháza, is a former Minister of Defense for Hungary. From 1990, he has been a member of the Hungarian Socialist Party (MSZP), and from 2000 the vice chairman of the party. He was the Minister of National Defense in Hungary from 27th May 2002 to 9th June 2006.

He attended primary school in Tiszadob and later studied in Nyíregyháza at the Lajos Kossuth Vocational Secondary School. From 1978, he attended the György Bessenyei Teacher’s Training College, Teacher’s Faculty in Nyíregyháza, and graduated in 1981. Between 1991 and 1993 he studied at the Tax and Finance Faculty of the College of Finance and Public Accountancy.

He was head of the HSP County Chapter’s Office until his election as a Member of Parliament in 1994 from the Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg county list of the HSP. From 1998, he served as the Deputy Chairman of the Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg County Territorial Alliance. He became the deputy-chairman of the Standing Defence Commission on 25 June 1998 and was elected to be the chair of the Commissions Supervisory Committee. He entered into office as Minister of Defense on 27 May 2002.
