Hondo made a nice copy of these, out of their Tokai (Japan) manufacturing source, shortly after Fender introduced them. The body is plywood however, and the pickguard is a single ply. The headstock is distinctively Hondo, though close to Fender's. The necks are a bit more "chunky". Very good play and sound however. I mention this, so you don't confuse these guitars with the Fender Lead Series.
