[edit] Facilities
Fenner Hall consists of two equal sized residential towers, with a total of 470 rooms. Each tower contains nine floors, with roughly 26 residents per floor. For a weekly tariff, students get a 3 by 4 metre room with all utilities included, access to cooking facilities, music and art rooms, three computer labs, three common rooms, a TV room and a small library. 'The Warren' canteen was installed in 2006 which serves both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages and light snacks. Fenner Hall recently expanded into a neighbouring hotel, due to a severe shortage of accommodation room in 2008.
[edit] Student Population
Fenner Hall administration attempt to ensure a balance of students, male and female, local and international, undergraduate and postgraduate. Being self-catered, the hall is an attractive prospect for international students; in 2007 fifty percent of the hall's residents were international students.
[edit] Administration
The present Head of Hall is Peter Fyfe. The Dean of Residents, currently Liam Cosgrave, is responsible for pastoral, social, administrative and disciplinary matters. The Dean is assisted by two Sub-Deans, each of whom is responsible for one residential tower. Each floor has an appointed Senior Resident, responsible for organising social events on the floor, monitoring students and informing the Dean of residents of any problems students are experiencing.
Residents elect a Fenner resident's committee, responsible for organising sporting, art and social events within the hall and in with other university halls. The committee is also responsible for advocacy within hall and within the ANU. Currently the committee has 17 members.
