Fenestration

The word fenestration finds its root in the Latin word for window, fenestra.
- Products that fill openings in a building envelope, such as windows, doors, skylights, curtain walls, etc., designed to permit the passage of air, light, vehicles, or people.
- With reference to people, the word defenestration refers to being thrown from a window.
- An opening, occurring naturally or created surgically, as through a membrane.
- A surgical procedure by which an opening is created between the inner ear and tympanum to replace fenestrae.
