The pier was not "bombed by the allies". It was demolished by the Corps of Engineers. No B-17s were involved.

"By the late 1990s the town council had neglected the pier so badly " - the pier is privately owned is not the responsibility of the council.

It can be argued that the council are still partly to blame, had they wanted to preserve the pier they could have. They just didn't care and still don't as the huge empty area by the nature reserve and felixstowe market, there for the last decade or so, demonstrates.

The image on this page that is supposedly of Languard Fort is actually the Doge's Palace in Venice! Markgpx 13:44, 19 May 2006 (UTC)

  • Agreed, I removed the image and replaced it with another one actually of Landguard Fort in Felixstowe. I thought before that I didn't recognise it (lived in flx for years), but never really clicked! Cheers [[ 18:01, 19 May 2006 (UTC)
  • The photo was orignally of Languard fort (not posted by myself) but it was named DSCFxxxx so I guess some dimwit overwrote it. Pjcard 16:03, 23 August 2006 (UTC)

The map currently shown for this article is not appropriate for Felixstowe. Stepp-Wulf 03:18, 2 July 2006 (UTC).

  • Seems to have been fixed? Pjcard 16:04, 23 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Cleanup

I have just tidied up this article. Does anyone object if I remove the Cleanup tag? Biscuittin (talk) 09:22, 18 February 2008 (UTC)
