Felix Mitelman

Felix Mitelman is a Swedish geneticist and is Professor of Clinical Genetics in Lund, Sweden. He is best known for his pioneering work on chromosome changes in cancer, and has worked on haematological malignancies and solid tumors.

He is a member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Arts and Sciences and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, and is a member of the Board of the European Cytogeneticists Association. In 2008, he was awarded the Nordic Fernström prize.

In total, Mitelman has co-authored more than 700 academic papers. He maintains a complete database of all published neoplastic disorders, with clinical features, now numbering more than 53,000 cases. The Mitleman Database of Chromosome Aberrations in Cancer is available on-line. (See below.)
